Dhaka University Admission Circular 2022-23 Session is published here. Dhaka University is one of the universities in Bangladesh. Dhaka University is an autonomous government university located in Shahabagh, Dhaka. The university was established in 1921. The educational program started on 1 July 1921. Admission to 4 units in Dhaka University is done through examination. From 2017 to 2020 and in 2022, only those who have passed the secondary and higher secondary examinations and will be considered eligible by fulfilling the various conditions of the university can apply for the examination.

Dhaka University Admission Form 2023

1. Candidates who have cleared 5 subjects in IGCSE/O Level examination from 2017 to 2020 and 2 subjects in IAL/GCE A Level examination published after 10th May 2022 can apply for the admission test. In IGCSE/O Level and IAL/GCE A Level Examinations out of total 7 subjects must have at least B grade in 4 subjects and C grade in at least 3 subjects.
2. Holders of higher secondary or equivalent foreign certificates and diplomas can apply with the permission of the Head of Unit. If the respective faculties are found to be equivalent, they have to apply like normal students. The application will be accepted if the faculty fulfills the conditions.

2022-23 Session Dhaka University Admission

There are total 4 units in Dhaka University. Now the candidate has to complete the application process in that unit considering which unit he wants to take the exam. Each unit has a different qualification i.e. exam point requirement for application. Here we discuss about each unit :-

Science Department:

• All departments of Faculty of Science, Faculty of Biology, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Earth and
• Environmental Science, Engineering and Technology.
• Certain qualifications are required to apply to the Science Unit.
• For application in science and agricultural science stream, Alim and IGCSE/O Level and IAL/GCE A Level examination must be passed in science stream of Higher Secondary and Madrasa Education Board.
• In Secondary and Higher Secondary or equivalent examination, GPA of 2 examinations including 4th subject must have a sum of 8.00.
• 3.5 per exam separately for Secondary and Higher Secondary or equivalent examinations.
• Students of Higher Secondary and Madrasah Board of Humanities and Commerce can also apply.
• Must have aggregate GPA of 7.00 including 4th subject in Secondary and Higher Secondary or equivalent examination.
• 3.0 in each examination separately in Secondary and Higher Secondary or equivalent examination.
• Having all these subjects will make a student eligible to apply for Science Unit Admission Test.

Arts, Law and Social Sciences:

• This unit consists of Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Social Sciences.
• Arts, Law and Social Science units require certain qualifications for application.
• Arts, Law and Social Science Unit application requires Alim and IGCSE/O Level and IAL/GCE A Level examination in science discipline of Higher Secondary and Madrasa Education Board.
• In Secondary and Higher Secondary or equivalent examination, GPA of 2 examinations including 4th subject must have a sum of 7.5.
• Secondary and Higher Secondary or equivalent examinations should have 3.0 in each examination separately.
• Students of Higher Secondary and Madrasa Board Science Branch and Commerce Branch can also apply.
• 8.00 aggregate GPA including 4th subject in Secondary and Higher Secondary or equivalent examination for science stream.
• 3.5 in each examination separately in Secondary and Higher Secondary or equivalent examination.
• Aggregate GPA of 7.5 including 4th subject in Secondary and Higher Secondary or equivalent examination for commerce stream.
• 3.0 in each examination separately in Secondary and Higher Secondary or equivalent examination.
• Having all these subjects will make a student eligible to apply for admission test in Arts, Law and Social Science units.

Business Education:

• All the faculties that can be applied for under the business education unit are mentioned in the admission guidelines provided on the website.
• Certain qualifications are required to apply for the Business Education Unit.
• Alim and pass IGCSE/O Level and IAL/GCE A Level examination in science branch of Higher Secondary and Madrasa Education Board for Business Education Unit application.
• In Secondary and Higher Secondary or equivalent examination, GPA of 2 examinations including 4th subject must have a sum of 7.5.
• Secondary and Higher Secondary or equivalent examinations should have 3.0 in each examination separately.
• Students of Higher Secondary and Madrasa Board Science and Humanities can also apply.
• 8.00 aggregate GPA including 4th subject in Secondary and Higher Secondary or equivalent examination for science stream.
• 3.5 in each examination separately in Secondary and Higher Secondary or equivalent examination.
• 7.5 aggregate GPA including 4th subject in Secondary and Higher Secondary or equivalent examination for humanities stream.
• 3.0 in each examination separately in Secondary and Higher Secondary or equivalent examination.
• If all these things are present then a student will be eligible to apply for admission test in business education unit.

Department of Fine Arts:

• All the faculties that can be applied for under the fine arts unit are mentioned in the admission guidelines given on the website.
• Must have passed Secondary and Higher Secondary or equivalent in any discipline.
• Candidates should have 6.5 aggregate GPA including 4th subject in Secondary and Higher Secondary or equivalent examination.
• And should have 3.0 in secondary and higher secondary or equivalent examination separately.

• Students have to select the department they are interested in taking the exam and need quota and scanned image.
• The admission application fee has to be paid online immediately or deposited in the four state-owned banks (Sonali, Janata, Agrani, and Rupali) within the stipulated time.

Note: Candidates who have passed A level and O level or equivalent from foreign or open schools should be evaluated for equivalence. DU Admission Test Mark Details

• Arts, Law and Social Science Unit: MCQ exam will be of 60 marks, duration 45 minutes. Written/Drawing Test Total Marks 40 Marks, Time 45 Minutes.
• Science Unit : MCQ exam will be of 60 marks, duration 45 minutes. Written/Drawing Test Total Marks 40 Marks, Time 45 Minutes.
• Business Education: MCQ exam will be of 60 marks, duration 45 minutes. Written/Drawing Test Total Marks 40 Marks, Time 45 Minutes.
• Fine Arts Unit : MCQ (General Knowledge) test will be of 40 marks, duration 30 minutes. Written/Akkan Test Total Marks 60 Marks, Time 60 Minutes Drawing.

The admission test will be held for 1 hour and 30 minutes

• Arts, Law and Social Science Unit : 06/05/2023 Saturday 11.00 AM to 12.30 PM.
• Science Unit : 12/05/2023 Friday 11.00 AM to 12.30 PM.
• Business Education : 13/05/2023 Saturday 11.00 AM to 12.30 PM.
• Fine Arts Unit : 29/04/2023 Saturday 11.00 AM to 12.30 PM.

Quota admission system Dhaka University

Ward Quota of Teachers/Officers/Employees of the concerned University (Boys/Girls/Husband/Wife only). Tribes/minorities, Harijan and Dalit communities, Handicapped have quota in the admission test. Freedom fighter quota can be used by children/grandsons/granddaughters of freedom fighters. Only students who have passed HSC examination from BKSP schools are eligible for player quota. Candidates for admission in the player quota of the students should collect the admission form from the Dean’s office of that unit within 7 days of the release of the result of that unit. In case of quota, the candidates seeking admission in the quota should submit the quota confirmation/certificate/certificate to the office of the Unit Head.

• In case of Ward Quota of Teachers/Officers/Employees along with Certificate from Head of University Office.
• Attested photocopy of certificate of respective Tribe/Minority Head/District Administrator for Tribal/Minority Quota.
• Certificate issued by Head Office of Harijan and Dalit Community in respect of Harijan and Dalit
• Community Quota.
• Certificate of Correctness of Disability in Disability Quota.
• Quota of Freedom Fighters Certificate issued by Ministry of Liberation War in case of freedom fighter’s child/grandson/granddaughter or certificate issued by then Prime Minister under Liberation War
• Parliament from 1997 to 2011.
• Only candidates who have passed HSC examination from BKSP College can apply for Player Quota.
• Must have BKSP certificate.
